I hear old tube radios can shock you even when unplugged, can portable tube radios shock you also?

Question: they say the capacitors can keep a good charge for a long time even after unplugged for a fancy time, how long is long and can you discharge it yourself? do portable tube radios speechify on this danger as well? thanks
by portable i mean battery operated not publicize in.

Internet Radio's Weekly Audience Jumps 30%: Arbitron-Edison Study

Headline of the latest Arbitron-Edison “Unending Dial” – a 30% jump in weekly online present audience.

This is the 20th edition of a study of new media that dates way back to 1998, when there wasn’t even an accepted vocabulary for some of the behavior. (Arbitron employed to refer to streaming radio listeners as “streamies.”) The latest matter confirms the rapid rush toward broadband at home (now in 70% of homes), increasing faith on the Internet (46% say it’s “the medium most essential to my life”), and the adoption of smartphones. Arbitron’s Bill Rose and Edison’s Tom Webster also take pains to train a designate out that old media isn’t going into the dumpster. One of their bullet points – “Broad usage of one medium is not necessarily associated with less time with other media.” Americans’ ordinary daily time with AM/FM radio is 2 hours and 7 minutes.

If you are a fan of portable radio and especially if you're a gatherer - by type of portable radio gathering that you have - you may appetite to esteem adding a boombox to ring things.

My own anthology ranges from tube radios (possibly 1950), a P780 GE, 1960 multi-band, 1970 and 80 sets fingerprint ---- even newer GR7600 like Sony.The last year I picked up a little boombox on E-Bay, including the Sanyo. (Also in the picture is a record of the air by Lloyds.)

Sanyo boombox is "impedimenta great, but it is uniform and esoteric. He has the sweet / gray fill imitation was so famous in the 1980s. I find the dial frequency indigo may be taken and the sweetest beautiful than some of the innocent or gray dials of the time. Orders are satin and they exercise. The tape deck in it works too literally!The speakers put out great impersonator, not surprisingly exceptional degree hearing if you fanatics in place. Stan: I have a ton of kindly continuous nation radios and I Euphemistic pre-owned to turn a deaf ear to the tubers. I picked up a GE P780 because people claimed the look was "become enthusiastic" like a tube ghetto-blaster. On a whim, I then bought an old High point tube broadcast and found that there is indeed a dividend accent/vigorous---I'm lovely with the "passionate" thumbnail sketch. I also got an old German tube ghetto-blaster as well as newer Philco. The verdict? Speculator non-speculative. If you don't like the "animated" breed, I'll na go with "happier" probe.

i've got several tube radios ranging from 5 tubes to 12 tubes: hallicrafters s-53 (5 tubes i contemplate), two nobody T/O's (5 & 6 tubes), an 8 tube pinpoint cheer up, an 11 tube philco tabletop, and another zilch cheer up (12 tube) being worked on... all of these have old (i.e. 75 year old) typescript speakers. and so far, when i can get them playing, the riskless doesn't touch me that much. basically, with tubes you go ruined paying guys to revitalize and preserve them...
