A little ownership retelling on these two piece would have been very helpful, but lacking this information, I will do the best I can.

I am going to start with the lady's desk. It was done in the Georgian sort of the mid to late 18th century, but I believe that it was actually made in the mid-20th century, probably circa 1940 or even a decade or two later. It is verifiable to be precise without the ownership history mentioned earlier.

The mahogany veneers inured to on the drawer fronts look lovely and might have been found on an earlier piece. So, what do I see in the photographs that makes me of this piece is later rather than earlier?

Among other things, I see varying sized mahogany boards (that may or may not be veneered) on the sides of the desk and the bent front lid is made from at least two boards. Earlier examples of this type of furniture would not have used so many boards, and the boards found in the construction would have been wider (and presumably thicker).
