Will a basic indoor tv antenna boost my wireless signal?

Question: If i go and support a basic tv antenna like rabbit ears, and link it to my wireless router will it boost my signal? or any other thoughts I am trying to get my signal to reach about 100 yards. Any cheap ideas?

Answer: No, it's utterly different technology.

100 yards (300 feet) is well within the line up of most routers with stock antenna. I've gotten mine to go 500-600 feet outdoors with no modifications. Most are rated at about 400 feet.

ITU Approves "LTE Advanced"

LTE-Advanced allows transmitter aggregation, the technology AT&T will use to move downlink traffic to the spectrum that it is buying from Qualcomm. The FCC prohibited AT&T from using that spectrum for uplink (unfixed/portable device to base station) communications. LTE-Advanced also allows the use of four or more antennas to renovate MIMO (multiple input/multiple output) performance. LTE currently uses only two antennas per contrivance. Due to the need to isolate the antennas, this may not be practical for cell phones but could work well for principal-speed in-car communications. Other improvements include "heterogeneous networking", which the Computer Wonderful article said includes mechanisms "to make conventional macro cells drudgery better with the smaller cells now being developed to better serve crowded and indoor areas.

How come I pick up cable tv with only an analog indoor tv antenna?

Yes, a leaky signal from either a neighbor’s uniting, or from a handy dispersal amp.

One exceptionally bad way to occasion this: Fit your radiogram to your rooftop antenna! I’m not extremely suggesting that anyone do this. It’s happened by misfortune more than a few times – someone wants to have both telegram and over-the-air and mistakenly hooks both to the same incurable on the TV… with a upright Y-adapter.

It will not perforce "go away next month". Only over-the-air broadcasting is changing to digital. Yes, wire is changing to digital too, but there is no rule mandate for a painstaking stage – each wire system moves channels to the digital side when and if they impecuniousness to.

However it may nevertheless go away at any dated. These leaks are very bad. The cable may be radiating all the way from 50 to 1000 MHz. It can impede with programme FM and TV, and also with other transistor services, specifically conspicuous accommodation comms (monitor and fire) and aircraft communications. Virtue wire companies look for these leaks and fix them when found.
