My shot in the dark from looking at your make a killing is ... you would demand to try a new antenna if adding the amp does not aide. you could merge a 91 xg for improved uhf appearance and use your reported antenna for vhf. along with the hdp 269 and uvsj vhf/uhg combiner. the two antennas would fit on a 5' mast segment spaced rightful under 4' aside. I am less then 20 miles from the Detroit stations, but I am closer to 100 from Toledo. I have a 2 bay antenna that feeds most of the tv's in my crib. The antenna that I lack the pre-amp for only feeds one tv that I use to see what standoffish stations I can get. I would not be using it for Detroit stations (This keeps the investment capital cheerful) I be familiar with that a pre-amp would load the Detroit stations....
