Is there a safe way to recharge my 19.2 Nickel Cadmium Battery?

Question: Is there a all right way to recharge my 19.2 Nickel Cadmium Battery? Craftsman battery charger reports the battery is marred. Multimeter reads about 3 volts. fully charged it should be around 21. i have interpret that you can use a car battery or car battery charger to 'jump

Answer: a nickel cadium battery is odd ..every time you recharge it the less life it has.. recharging this kind of bettery is like letting one pint out of a five gallon container.. now you say it is three volts.. this means it is chemically done... i make up this is one of those emergency

I have some Nickel Cadmium Batteries, each one has 2 cells . They are aproximately 15" x 6" x 8", I supposition they weigh about 10 kg each. It says the brand name name is NIFE. I’m on a 12v solar power system for my house and desideratum to identify how many of these Nickel Cadmium batteries I need to return my fading fast leadacid battery bank.
