I have a 1965 Pontiac with a 389 engine, was just clicking, replaced battery , now nothing ,not even a click?

Question: I tried jumping it first, figured perchance the battery had a dead cell, cause it was 5 years old. So I bought a new battery, all the lights industry , sometimes starter will click, sometimes it wont do anything , need help ?????? is it starter or bad solenoid or ???

Answer: I would say the starter solenoid is bad you can try and disregard it with a screw driver. There should be 3 wires going to the solenoid 1 being the stubborn battery cable and 2 small wires use screw driver under the centre post (battery cable) and over the small post (wire) closest
