Does it matter whether I connect the HDMI cables to the Home Theater Receiver or the HDTV first?

Question: I need to connect all of my devices to the TV first and then connect the TV to the receiver so that I don't always have to have the receiver on to watch TV or movies. Will I trifle away sound quality if I connect the HDMI cables in this way? Are there any other reasons I shouldn't

Answer: Most TVs will not antiquated-through dolby Digital from HDMI to s/pdif out, so check with your TV and one rise before you use it in all of them.
