I have a VIP622 DISH network HDTV DVR receiver, can I hook up Direct TV service to it?

Question: I extraordinarily like the functionality and the storage of the receiver, but I like Direct TV's programming better. I was wondering if it would be feasible to have the best of both worlds.

Answer: No. Only DirecTV materiel for DirecTV service. Dish Network and DirecTV use like technology (Ku Band) but that about covers it. Different satellites, multifarious coding, different security.
