I have a VIP622 DISH network HDTV DVR receiver, can I hook up Direct TV service to it?

Question: I extremely like the functionality and the storage of the receiver, but I like Direct TV's programming greater. I was wondering if it would be possible to have the best of both worlds.

Answer: No. Only DirecTV paraphernalia for DirecTV service. Dish Network and DirecTV use similar technology (Ku Troop) but that about covers it. Different satellites, different coding, several security.
